Buellton, California 93427
The small town made famous by pea soup, Buellton is located about 30 miles north of Santa Barbara on Highway 101. Located about halfway between Santa Barbara and Santa Maria, this community
is becoming a favorite place to live, nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Buellton is at the intersection of Highway 101 (the main coastal California highway) and Highway 246, which
crosses the Santa Ynez Valley from Lompoc to the West to Santa Ynez to the East. On the eastern side, Highway 246 merges into Highway 154, which is an alternative route to Santa Barbara via the "San Marcos Pass".
The picture to the right was taken of "Pea Soup Andersens", a familiar stop on Highway 101, noted for its pea soup and its coffee shop. This is at the center of Buellton, immediately to the East of the Highway 246 exit from Highway 101.
